Blueberry Peach Cobbler

It’s not Maw Maw’s dough from scratch, but this versatile recipe, more cake than cobbler, works with a single fruit or several seasonal fruits combined and tastes like her home cooking! (We even tried it with canned apple slices – delicious!) And since cinnamon and nutmeg are optional, you really only need have three ingredients on hand for a easy, fresh summer dessert.


  • 4-6 fresh peaches, chopped
  • 2 cups fresh blueberries
  • ½ Tbsp. ground cinnamon (optional)
  • ½ tsp. nutmeg (optional)
  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • ¾ stick of butter


Preheat oven to 350. Mix fruit with fresh cinnamon & nutmeg (optional) and place in the bottom of an oven-safe dish. Sprinkle cake mix over top. Slice butter into ½ chunks and place over top. Bake for 45 minutes to an hour. Serve hot with ice cream.
