Chia Pudding

Christmas13DSC_0402_11519DSC_0402If you like strawberry banana smoothies (think Angel Food from Smoothie King), you’ll love this easy 3-ingredient pudding. It’s nondairy, all natural, vegan, clean – and delicious! In addition to supplying two of five recommended daily servings of fruits and vegetables, this breakfast dish (or anytime snack) includes chia seeds, known as the “running food” because they slow the conversion of carbohydrates into sugar (Aztec warriors used to subsist on little else during 24-hour marches.) Chia seeds also provide easily digestible protein, calcium, an alphabet of vitamins, and rich omega-3 fatty acids – a host of benefits that has nutritionists referring to it as the “Ancient Food of the Future.” Recipe is courtesy of 


  • 2 bananas
  • 5 strawberries, fresh or frozen
  • 1/4 cup chia seeds


Blend bananas and strawberries. Transfer to a bowl and stir in chia seeds. Wait 10 minutes and stir again. In a half hour, pudding should be nice and thick. Enjoy for breakfast or as a late night sweet.
