Fresh Fruit with Minted Honey

Fruit offering“If you feed them, they will come,” Joan Chastain tells the editors of Louisiana Cookin’ in their July/August issue. A mother of four, Chastain is referring to a strategy certain to get teen and young adult children to gather at your house – before and after leaving the nest. This fresh fruit dish is a simple but nutritious (and delicious) way to ring the dinner bell.

  • 4 cups sliced fresh peaches
  • 2 1/2 cups sliced fresh strawberries
  • 2 cups fresh blackberries
  • 1 1/2 cups fresh blueberries
  • 1/4 cup Bocage honey
  • 1 tsp. lime zest
  • 3 Tbsp. fresh lime juice
  • 3 Tbsp. finely chopped fresh mint

In a large serving bowl, combine peaches and all berries. In a small bowl, combine local honey, lime zest and juice, and chopped mint. Drizzle honey mixture over fruit, stirring gently to coat. Garnish with additional mint if desired. Serve immediately.
