Looking for a quick appetizer to bring to the office lunch or your next holiday party? Holly Clegg offers this surprisingly simple spread recipe in her Too Hot in the Kitchen cookbook. Surprisingly simple with just six ingredients, the ying-yang result tantalizes every taste bud with each sweet, spicy and salty bite. 


  • 1 (8-ounce) package reduced-fat cream cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon curry powder
  • 2/3 cup mango chutney
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans, toasted
  • 4 slices cooked turkey bacon, crumbled


Mix together cream cheese and curry, and then spread on serving plate. Carefully spread chutney over cream cheese layer. Sprinkle with green onions, pecans, and bacon. Cover and refrigerate until serving. Makes 16 servings (2 tablespoon) servings. Serve with crackers.
