Perfect Peach Smoothie

peachsmoothieIf you prefer to drink your fruits and veggies – or just need a nutritious way to cool off in the summer heat, try this smoothie combining bananas, strawberries, and peaches in a recipe from Deliciously Ella, a food blogger who focuses on whole, plant-based foods for optimal health. 


  • 2 frozen ripe bananas
  • 2 peaches
  • a dozen strawberries
  • 1 cup of almond milk
  • a few ice cubes (optional)
  • a tablespoon each of ground flaxseeds and chia seeds (optional)


Peel bananas, cut into slices, and freeze in freezer-safe plastic bags for at least 2 hours. With frozen bananas ready, cut the tops of the strawberries (these can be frozen too for an hour or so before making too, but be sure to cut the top off before freezing.) Then, cut the peach to remove the stone, but keep the skin on. Place all the fruit in a blender with the almond milk and ice, and blend until smooth. You may add more liquid – almond milk or water – to thin it out, if desired. Serves 2.
